Complete disassembly Tutorial of the Alienware M17x R2 (should also work for R1). You may have to turn up the sound a bit and you do this at your own risk. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

  • Thanks for the videos, i got some more confidence in me opening the M17X R2. Tell me, how do you feel about the build quality of the R2 ? Do you feel it's build with premium materials ? Did Dell engineers do a good job or it's just like a regular laptop?

  • @sfarosu They did a great job in the build quality! It's really heavy as you already know, but it's definitely very solidly built. My only dislike about the choice of materials is the aluminum. Even though it's thick, it's still quite pliable. I've dropped my computer a few times from very small heights - less than 6" - (no damage done) and the aluminum casing as bent in a few places and that's very hard to fix/ bend back. Perhaps they should have used titanium or something.
