Yup, Canada legalized same sex marriage a few years ago. No sign of any apocalypse up north here anywhere. :P

Civil gay marriage is not legal in Denmark! Actually, in June 2010 it was rejected again (see the page 'Same-sex marriage legislation around the world' and 'Registered partnership in Denmark' on the English wikipedia, somehow I cannot link here). Denmark was only the first country in the world to legalize any civil form of union between people of the same sex (in 1989).

Another issue is that private instutions such as religious affiliate adoption agencies are often order to comply with the current marriage statutes. Most people don't understand how gay marriage travels a little bit into the opposing line because they don't understand our faith or why we are opposed to homosexuality. They speak of love and following your heart but fail to realize that perhasp we feel that we are following our heart by following the bible.

However that is not the sole reason why he is being sued. he is being sude because he poured salt on the wound by sending an e-mail that contained bible verses about homosexuality. As a result change.org's title of this insident indicates another bed and breakfast with gave a more vague answer (didn't even mention God) as saying that civil unions are Sinful. cnt.

When Gay marriage becomes legal it tends to create a push to tighten the seperation of church and state. Suddenly christian Business owners are being told how to run their business, what organizations they can give support to under their business's name. (don't believe me explore the Whole Chick-a-filla controversy on Change.org) In the state of illinois a bed and breakfast is being sued because it's owner told him that he was refusing to allow their civil union to occur cnt.

A gay couple can have the power of attorney as well as the power to make medical decisions under a civil union. A gay spouse can inherit from the deceased spouse under civil unions. under civil unions the spouse can visit them in prision. If none of these are alotted in civil unions LGBT can fight to have them added to the legislation and most people would probably be more accepting of that. cnt.
