Glucose is the sugar used, oxygen is important too.Co2 is giving off carboxyl groups made them new.
Pyruvate then becomes converted and Acetyl CoA in the cell is gurded with water and NAD+, reduction with an H is a must.

Glucose breakdown its an exergonic process, losing its energy makes the ladies impressed. Glucose is the fuel cells most often use, if its gonna be replaced gotta fill some big shoes.
