I practice daito ryu aikijiujitus myself, and I can tell you everything you see here is part of jiu jitsu. and correct me if i'm wrong, but wasnt mma created as a response to the gracies winning the first ufc's with bjj?

bjj being judo, and judo being an element of jiu jitsu, you could say that mma is an attempted copy of jiu jitsu

I would at least say its more than a solid tool.

This is wonderful. So much more true to life with the gi, witch allows so many more techniques than no-gi mma. This is like the old styles of jujitsu from the Edo Period and the Sengoku Jidai.

@tyebo87 yes and no... the only way to get better and learn faster is mat time and experience... u need to roll and apply the theory u learn and put it all together...it is weird that they would teach it but doesnt do any rolling... if not then just buy mats and get people together and start rolling safely. oss.

@Darbzznc one major difference is small joint manipulation, that is not allowed in mma, but in reality sport jujitsu isn't much different from mma

love this sport,because you can pull on the clause,you are not naked its just a real streetfight..tih is like mma but this is more fun for me i think because you can pull on the shirt pants

We need to make our own fighting league with gi and no gi fighting like the old school UFC

I would like for MMA to allow the wearing of the Gi! Some of the guys in this video are pretty good. It wouldn't hurt them to tighten their boxing up abit though. As for the UFC it was originally started by the Gracie's so they could show case their BJJ. They sold it to the Ferrite's after being shut down. They had to change the rules in order to get MMA legalised again in America!
