Sand Colic :( - Tango's Recovery

I made this video about two weeks ago, I was too busy to upload it. But yes tango got sand colic and it was really bad. I had walked her till around midnight, and she fell almost 5 times that night. It was horrible and I cried for a good hour while I was walking her, I was so scared. I ended up staying the night in the barn, making sure she didn't get worse. The vet came up that morning and saved her, He said he wasn't sure she would of made it another night.

But she's recovered amazingly, she's created a hate for me whenever I come around with a tube, Lets just say I had to stick a tube of crushed pills down in her mouth twice a day, for 12 days. Half the time the stuff ended up on me. But I'm so happy I have a healthy pony once again. Riding is still at a stand still because of weather, I miss it alot. But soon, I will hopefully be able to ride her again

All the pictures where taken at least 2 weeks before she had coliced.

this may sound weird to you , but what is sand colic ?

@Horselover0708 A horse gets Sand Colic when the horse has too much sand in their stomachs, A horse's stomach is so much different than our stomachs. They can not burp or vomit. So when a horse gets a stoamch ache, it can be life threathening. And when a horse gets a stomach ache they usually want to get down and roll, but if they do they can twist their stomachs and die. Its a scary thing :(

my sisters mare "skippa" who was getting ready to have a baby got sand colic she made it but when she had the colt she passed :{ ....sand colic is a very scary thing!!!!

@RidesWithTheWind oh poor girly! yeah i have heard of just colic , but not sand colic :(
