Tannerite is a low power explosive mixture that detonate when struck with a high amount of shock... as in a rifle bullet.
The boom was much bigger that what you hear in the little camera.
It's fun stuff to shoot, but kind of expensive.
Ben was shooting his customized Bushmaster topped with a Nikon Team Primos 3-9 scope. That's a good little scope, being just a rebadged Nikon Monarch for about 250 bucks.

It's ammonium nitrate (fertilizer, ice packs) and dark aluminum flake, along with small amounts of other metals mixed together.

My uncle makes the stuff, and I'm sure he's on the FBI watch list - along with the rest of my family. We had a steel drum that we duct taped a 2 pound brick onto and shot with a .204 Ruger. It blew a hole the size of a human skull into it and made a hell of a bang.
