I FELL IN LOVE WITH CAROUSELS AND HORSESD WHEN I WAS 6 YEARS OLD AT ASBURY PARK NJ ON THE PALACE CAROUSEL WITH ITS GRAND WIRLITZER ORGAN PLAYING ESTUDIENTINA. IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANY CAROUSELS THAT PLAY THIS PLEASE LET ME KNOW, MY NAME IS ELLEN AT JONSIE86@HOTMAIL.COM!

I heard Estudiantina by Waldteufel on an old 33 disk of French steam calliopes or something in the collection of a famous French chef. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Finding this is magical-- it connects me with memories across the better part of my life. Thank you! PJT

My favorite carousel waltz! And what a wonderful organ to bring it out! I was at the Silver Beach Carousel this summer and asked the band organ operators if they could play this on their brand new Stinson MIDI organ. They looked at me puzzled, went over to find it on the MIDI menu after I had spelled it out, and still could not find it. I appears to me like I am one of the only people who can "name that band organ tune!"

Your band is beautiful and plays absolutely wonderful. It is my favorite of anything I've found on YouTube or in person.
This tune really brings out the wonderful sound of your pipes.
What type of wood(s) did you use for the pipes? We've seen references to both poplar and CWP, but where can you find real CWP as it was 50-100 years ago these days?
My son (Wurlitzer153duplex) and I are exploring building an organ (we have some woodworking background).

Thanks and I used pine for the pipes; mostly just 2X4's. The bottoms of the pipes where the windway is cut I used maple.
Good luck if you decide to build an organ - it was a lot of fun. I didn't have any experience when I started, I just kind of learned as I went. For me it was about 3 years, 3,000 hours.
Good luck and have fun!
