i bought a 94 sidekick 1.6 believe its an 8v, snorkel (i didnt install it) but everytime i hit the water my truck wants to cut out i know the snorkel isnt fully sealed somewhere but buddy thinks it may be electrical that makes my truck keep bogging out and i dont know if any1 knows anything about the gas lines on these trucks but my gas tank had a plastice boxr on it above it which looked like the return gas line came too but it was broken so i just removed it and put straight line is that ok?

@Codya523 Try to clean the ignition. You have the wiring for the plugs, they comes from this central unit, open it up and there might be some oxidation that makes your truck lose power. I had that problem. And also try to clean the nips on the battery if there is some oxidation too.

technical question. I have a 87 hard top stock engine with a very poor street performance ( it hardly reaches the 50mph) with a 235/75/R15s I really dont want to go 1.6L so here are some mods I've done to improve: pacesette header K&N air filter magnaflow exhaust 2" tubing MSD coil E3 sparks 103amp alternator optima battery readjust vacuum advance distributor dual friction central force clutch 4.16 transfer case electric fan stock carb still nothing, can you help me thanks

@mikevegas88 Well, I run the 1.3 inject on 29" tires. Runs 125-130 in 4th gear. And yes, street perfomance could be better. I'm checking something that is called 1.3 8v stock carb engine that has Suzuki GSXR carbs on it (motorbike). They told me the engine will run like a chainsaw and has the same hp as a 1.6 16v engine. I'm checking the net for this one but couldn't find a lot of info. But I'll inform if I find something more. I think you can't do much about it, a Samurai is made to off road.

@mikevegas88 On my off roader I have a Nikki carb (superior), K&N airfilter, open exhaust (straight pipe) and also 4.16 gears. My daily Samurai has a 1.3 injection with K&N airfilter on 29's. Goes well but I miss that little bit of extra power. All you can do is buy manual locking hubs, they also decrease the consumption. But you already did a lot of things to the engine like the exhaust etc. I don't know a lot about motor tuning. I just know some opportunities I've heard of.. :-)

@mrjerry1975787 What do you mean? :p The car is now almost 20 years old, so am I. It was bought around my birthdate. My dad drove it off road when I was a small kid and he upgraded it through the years. And when I was old enough I helpen him. :)
