This is the follow up video for the Ring & Cylinder Mag Lev Fixture Video. I promised at the end of the video I'd do a follow up to show some machining steps and tooling tips.
Here is the link to the magnet supplier. The two smaller magnets are used on the shaft and the larger is the outside magnet. The small magnets can hold up about one pound and the 3/8' will suspend two pounds.

  • It is such a joy to watch you work. I would love to see you machine more things in the future. PS do you know any good source for solar cells?

  • @bdrman2004

Thanks, I have to say I really enjoyed watching you work. I subscribed so I don't miss out on another project if you post a video. You've got an uncanny knack for keeping a person interested. I will be doing a few machining projects soon Thanks for watching some of my videos

  • I've watched several of your videos and was wondering if you would like to make some extra money, you do great work. I'm starting a project soon and would like it if you made the base and shaft for my motor. I dont have any plains or anything at the moment but I can draw them up, and if you need I can mail the magnets for the suspended shaft too. You probably get propositions often and don't need the money but I had to ask... Thanks

  • @SN1PEOMAT1C

I'm really sorry but I could never build this stuff for a practical price. I'm almost always way behind on most everything I'm trying to do as well.

    Thanks for the offer though.

  • @DadHav

That's fine can you explain how the mag lev works and how you tune it to levitate. Thanks

  • @SN1PEOMAT1C

Hello, There's really not much to it. The magnets are always repelling so you just try to contain the shaft in a position where the center magnets stay radially centered without being pushed forward or back. The only tuning is to move the outside ring magnets to a setting where the point on the shaft hardly touches the mirror or glass on the end pieces. This is the same as a Mendocino solar motor but with a magnet surrounding the shaft rather than just underneath.

Oh. Remington is always around. I think he's getting more popular than myself. I'll have to get him some of his own videos or at least showcase him a little more. I'm not real familiar with the Kapanadza project. I'll read a little more about it and see if I can figure out something to do with it.

Thanks for watching and the compliment.

  • hi DadHAv, you've really amazing stuff here..Congrats! but i did not see remington helping you :)

I saw that you've created amazing motors and i was guessing if you're planning (not true, i hope this) to mix the kapanadza generator with one of your motors to have a fully functional generator to magnetic motors in order to create something really interesting. Maybe you can as you have the knowledges in order to create variations of this generator to minimize it....

    Thanks for sharing
