My final short film for DXARTS 453 and for the Video Series.
The premise was completely my own and I had complete creative freedom.
"Harmony" is a film that has many different meanings. To me, it is my final video experiment which ties the best aspects of all my previous short films together. The general idea was formed from "Video Haikus" with many elements from "Bete Noire" influencing the narrative and cinematography. Scenes from "Relativity" were used as inspiration for the finale and the abstract experiences in "Retrospect" and "Paper or Plastic" helped me nail the style.
This film was an experiment to blend cinematic storytelling techniques with an abstract narrative for an interactive experience for the audience. There are many story elements presented, making it possible for there to be multiple interpretations of what really happened.
The music was written by Kerri and Meghan providing a level of cinematic beauty for which I am truely thankful for their support and talent. My editor Ashley was once again merciless in her critique of my screenplay, which is why she will be helping me out on every one of my films for years to come.
This film, along with "Bete Noire" debuted at the Henry Art Gallery on June 19th as part of an exhibition of the best films from my classmates in the DXARTS video series.
