  • Wonderful, thanks for all of these!

  • Going out on a high note...a million cyber hugs for uploading these gems.

Anyone catch the name of Mrs. Ripper's husband ?

  • @nikican - Hi - yes it was fimed just outside a property called 'Long Gables' Gorse Avenue, Kingston Gorse, BN16 1SQ. The telephone box was a prop and therefore not a real fixture there. They then proceeded along Gorse Avenue heading west towards sea lane, Kingston Gorse. I remember this well because I was an estate agent at the time and had that particular house on the market. The crew went into the 'Seaview Hotel' in East Preston later that day for refreshments and I talked to many of them.

  • @TRUMPER007 Do you have any idea precisely which street/road/laneway the telephone box/horse and carriage scene was filmed in? Yes, it's a superb series, very popular at the time but curiously forgotten now by many people.

  • @nikican - Yes, the scene on the horse carriage and telephone. Great series and one I watch over and over and still hilarious. Have you seen Peter Egan's outtakes trying to sing as a shepherd? - priceless!

  • @TRUMPER007 Great information - was aware of Yapton but not Kingston Gorse/East Preston. Which scenes were filmed there? The telephone box scene?

  • These locations in this episode are Yapton recreation ground and Kingston Gorse, East Preston, West Sussex - I remember the filming - about 1989. Brilliant series - shame they don't make quality shows like this anymore.

  • Wish I had neighbours like Howard & Hilda instead of those two smackheads with their noisy dogs and all night parties!

  • if you look at it Paul Eddington and Richard Briers share 5 of the biggest comedies ever. The Good Life, Yes Minister and Yes, Prime Minister. and RB the good life and ever decreasing. not bad at all.

  • excellent comedy, well acted with a strong script, beats any of the rubbish they call "sit-coms" today!....
