@Cobac Jellyfishes are more akin to biological 'cities' of polyps specializing and working together to achieve the same goal - the creature you're referring to doesn't have a brain per-se. Also, just curious - when you say to see things for what they are, do you mean to see the pile of flesh for what it is (that is, a brainless pile of flesh)?
-
@GuitarSongCoverDude You are wrong , even the Jellyfish has a brain , Anencephaly basically means you just gave birth to flesh and only a pile of Flesh , im a christian but still you have to see things for what they are . Its sad yes but it cant be undone , make another one or just adopt :)
-
@moocowsteph it doesn't have a brain - it doesn't feel - it doesn't think - it doesn't do anything. Please explain logically how this is a human and please explain logically how this wasn't selfish if the parents knew about this? PS your religious arguments will not be listened to because they are just silly.

@moocowsteph with anencephaly 99.97% of the time the baby dies within a few hours they do not have a brain that the reason the head is so small in developed countries this is known within the first 4 months of pregnancy those who choose to give birth just choose to, the longest living person with the disorder lived to be about 2. Usually they lay the baby in the bed and him/her die. Its very sad for the parents fortunatly the baby can't feel anything since the brain isn't there
-
That is someone's child. How dare anyone be so rude and callous. People love that child, people grieve for that child.
The reason some choose to keep the pregnancy instead of terminate is because some people don't believe we have the right to kill another human being, even of he isn't perfect. The parents and family got to spend extra months with the baby, hold him and say goodbye instead of aborting him. And I doubt they regret that decision.
-
I know a lot of people are against abortion but why carry on with the pregnancy when you know the baby is going to be born with this. Perhaps the baby can't feel pain but even so it's cruel. Why endure a pregnancy just for the baby to die straight away. A lot of parents-to-be terminate on the advice of hospitals and some don't. I think they're causing themselves more pain by having to see their baby die than terminating before things progress so far.

Babies usually cry when they are born, it doesn't mean they are all in pain. Babies with anencephaly don't feel pain, as the necessary part of the brain is missing. The baby just exists like a jellyfish basically.
Don't feel sorry for the baby, feel sorry for the parents.
