Ichthyosaur Attack

Proves that the Ichthyosaur has some A.I.

The Ichthyosaur is only seen during the portal scene in Half-Life 2 and no where else. It can be spawned by typing give npc_ichthyosaur into the console, and it can only be spawned in the water. It's a good idea to spawn the Ichthyosaur in deep water, otherwise it spawns in the ground and spins around. In the Half-Life 2 Source code (SDK) the Ichthyosaur has AI relationships for both the Metro Police, and Antlions. It also has AI relationships for the player (you). I noticed that in the Half-Life 2 Beta, on the coastal maps there is an invisible Ichthyosaur, that will kill the Antlions once they enter the water. I'm assuming before Half-Life 2 was released valve implemented the Antlion's drowning rather then getting eaten because there were issues with the AI of the Ichthyosaur. The Metro Police are one of the few NPC's that can actually shoot a weapon under water. In the AI relationship table it says that the Ichthyosaur is able to eat the cops, drag them around in its mouth, and bite them. In this video I made, you can actually see one of the metro police get eaten by an Ichthyosaur, and his pistol being left behind.

I avoided all water in HL2 after the beginning teleport where this appears. Felt stupid after I found out he wasn't even in the game after that...

Just swimming with one of those motherfuckers is scarier than Ravenholm. I wish they could have included them in HL2...

The ichythyosaur was a little baby when vort. fleshed him in HL before the aliens and the vort. kill ichys mom so he is out to kill any thang he can find.The fish is a 199 year old alien that if you come near it it will kill you there is not more then 1 ichy in the whole hl sequence you were suposed to kill it in hl1 because it was attcking and they replaced it in hl2.in hl3 it will return more scary if theres ever hl3.
