This simple demo shows how a square wave can be represented as other functions such as a sine wave using matlab. This video also serves as a Matlab and/or simulink tutorial as applied to the concept of the Fourier seriesI will post a more thorough discussion on the Fourier Transform.

  • The model will be more complicated involving multipliers and integrators if you use the mathematical definition of finding Fourier. coefficients. This example is just a demo showing that a periodic function consist of a whole bunch of sinusoids and may be use verify the Fourier calculation and signal bandwidth.

  • There is no fourier block in Simulink or at least I'm not aware of. You can use the Spectrum Analyzer found in the Signal Processing Toolbox.

  • nice Idea but for this simple task you can use a calculator. A tip for you, use the shortcuts to copy things (strg + mouse) or (strg+c, v) ^^
