  • Just grabbed one of these on Ebay for a decent price! I'm freaking psyched, and watching this repeatedly in anticipation. So thanks again for the video :D

  • @phreakindee Awesome! What model have you got?

  • 8:30 - "I know nothing about computer hardware"... LOL, that about sums up this guy. Get a copy of Bit by Bit and dive in. A real hacker would have had the case off in the first 2 minutes or less. Actually, your best bet is to get a Time Sinclair 1000 manual, and read it... that is a good introduction to a very simple motherboard... you have one discrete chip for everything... cpu, rom, ram, etc

  • @cobrachoppergirl I have never claimed to be a hacker. I'm a collector, and a retro gamer, nothing more.

  • Easter-egg? - In an early PET Microsoft Basic, type the command WAIT 6502. The screen will fill with the text "MICROSOFT". This apparently was inserted by Bill Gates himself in order to assert Microsoft's copyright on PET BASIC after he had had an argument with Commodore founder Jack Tramiel.

  • @SteveBenway An 8032, US model. Looks nearly identical to yours minus a different faceplate under the monitor and with the expected 110v PSU.

  • advanced pc

  • love your channel, its been a ride down memory lane for me. subscribed to your channel, i'm a mac user now who uses computers mainly for graphics.

  • To me, the PET is the coolest looking vintage home computer. I just bought a German machine called a LEUROTEX 5000 which is the spitting image of one of these PETs, but is apparently just a "data terminal".

  • To me, the PET is the coolest looking vintage home computer.

  • @9:32 - Very nice motherboard!

  • @TeamRocketReviews No, that won't be for some time. In all honesty, the Spectrum bores me senseless.
