Since their eyesight is very poor and eyes very weak to extreme light, it puts a sort of strain on not only their eyes but their energy as well (since they are by nature lazy animals). They actually sleep with their eyes open, and dialation can be a symptom of this. If you tap the tank next to them or touch them or make a loud noise, you'll notice their pupil size returning back to regular size. Man, that sounded like one of those gay nerd explanations you get from a guy who youtubes too much..

I notice that my pacman frog's pupils get smaller in the day and get bigger when he is about to feed, do you know why this is or?
