The power of one DieHard Platinum battery powers 24 cars without batteries, the man that invented electronic music, and his lights and keyboards. Bring on the groupies.

  • @Cosmoline

    And crashes them too!

  • I call bullshit, cuz once you start one car they are all running of off the alternator. and notice the extra battery between volvo and pontiac at 1:17

  • @tonehansford1960 yeah, but he's been that for a while. i mean , what your saying is nothing numan

  • Cool idea but the DieHard Platnum must only start one car and that ist possible....

After the first car is running you see that the second car uses the energy comming from the first car's alternator xDD Lights dim for 2 seconds ....

  • @Elephantintheroom01 He looks to me as though hes thinking, I am too fucking cool for this damn commercial.

  • @razgoldenbrau they did

  • Great Short Film

  • @razgoldenbrau I think he looks at everyone like that.

  • Why is Gary Numan looking at the cars as if they raped his mother ?

  • He flies his own plane!

  • Everybody report and help get this mass advertising off youtube.

  • @godparticles1 So was Numan, then he got hair implants.

  • @stromce he's had hair implants for years.

  • What is Gary pissed at? I think he hated making this commercial! (He doesn't look happy at all!)

  • @thelegendbullet937 It doesn't take much out of a battery to start a car. As each car didn't have a battery in it, there was only a couple seconds of load on the battery each time a car started. In the end, it took roughly 20 seconds to start all of the cars one after the other. You can pull the fuse for your fuel injectors and hold your key in the start position for far longer than that without worry of hurting your battery. This is no different.

  • @KLowD9x

Granted, but there are many cars out there and that Volvo wasn't the first to start. Perhaps it's not a miraculous feat, but I don't think a Walmart brand battery will be doing this any time soon ;)

  • @thelegendbullet937 Ergo, you must charge the battery for a minute before there is enough current from the alternator and battery of the jumping car to turn over the starter motor in the car being jumped. Also, jumping cables are typically undersized and can't handle the massive currents required to jump a car but can handle charging a battery. Starting a car that has a moderately charged battery is much easier than jumping a car with a completely dead battery.

  • @thelegendbullet937 There is a Volvo S40 MKII out there. That vehicle has an alternator rated for 140A at 14 Volts. That is a whopping 1960 watts of power. The starter on that same car is rated at 1200 watts. The starter is a standard gear reduction starter motor used on many of the other cars in that lineup. There is enough power coming out of that alternator to start another car. Also, you have to wait when jumping a car with a dead battery because a dead battery acts as a load in the circuit.

  • @KLowD9x

Yes and no, the alternators in cars of that size are not very powerful, surely they could not put out enough power from an idling engine to start another car within 5 seconds, why do you think you have to wait a few minutes and or rev an engine to jump-start another?

  • how did i end up here??

  • so much epic

  • Now THATS a high powered battery.. I heart Gary Numan..

  • They powered Gary Numan? I knew he was a robot!

  • @KLowD9x thats exactly what im saying. and you can hear them all rev up the rpms just for more power.
