you are total right ..mine adjuster have be forced in ..by the po..it have ruin the tensioner..only push in to noise disapeares..no longer..its best if it self can adjusting by the byild in spring..

but hope to get a spare engine..and get on road next summer

have you test SOHC forum..lot of honda fun...they speak english ..better then me..ha ha..

@klozedbeataofficial Because you have to tension the chain with a running engine, so apply only a bit of pressure, and if its not unseizing, don't force it! If the chain breaks, or the screwdriver somehow gets caught, not only will you put yourself in danger, you WILL crash the engine. Think of things like bent/broken valves, shattered pistons, bent connecting rods, bent crankshaft. It can ruin the engine. So be gentile haha!

@TheStrynboen All the old Honda's suffer from the well known cam chain problem, including my own 1977 CB400F :P I'm doing a complete engine rebuild, so the chain + tensioners will be replaced.

If you dont feel like replacing the chain and tensioners, and the tensioners are seized, you can still tension the chain by removing the locknut + bolt which you normally use, and gently pushing on the tensioner with a screwdriver or something. But, number one rule, be gentile!
