This is so misleading and I don't need to tell you that "Reefer Madness" was sponsored by the alcohol industry! This is just maintaining fear in the elderly or the ignorant ....keeps the status quo. How many parents are gonna have a talk tonight with little Johnny, telling him he could die if he has a joint? Folks, we're in the information age, shouldn't we act like it?

@bermudaguy1 "Reefer Madness" was not sponsored by the alcohol industry... it was financed by a church group in 1936 to try & influence kids to not smoke marijuana. Get your facts straight man. I agree with the rest of your comment though.

@ksalbrecht88 Actually, I live to learn....but go to Youtube ( joe Rogan & Tod McCormick on hemp/cannabis. uploaded by GJT771. The interview is 10 minutes but he comments in the 1st 10 seconds on your incorrect assumption.

@bermudaguy1 It isn't the equivalent of Anheuser-Busch or Miller pitching a few $million$ to a cause. That is what I thought you meant when you said it. BTW... Reefer Madness was the second cut of the original film...the original film titled "Tell Your Children" wasn't sponsored by the alcohol industry whatsoever. It was purchased by producer Dwain Esper, who re-cut the film for distribution on the exploitation film circuit. That must have been when a "couple distilleries" sponsored the re-cut.

@timcrow420 It was a scare tactic... the news media was hyping it up to scare all the dumbasses that don't know that in order for cannabis to bud properly you have to put it in a dark cycle. I am confident that the person who was growing the weed you see in this video had some type of timer connected to the lights.

How can you, as a reporter, promote this disinformation with no research cited? Forgive me but I can't just take your word for this. I am under the impression that no empirical research exists which shows that Marijuana can be deadly. In fact, you have no evidence for any of your claims, which reporters are expected to present. If I am wrong please provide me with a DOI or information so I can find this research. If I am wrong correct me. Lets have an honest debate about it and see what happens.

i have smoked pot for 35 years and im still doing fine. there is no such thing as pot that will kill you. that is a joke and a half. there is a such thing as killer pot that is very good for you though. i think everyone should be allowed to have a big old banana tree of bud growing if they want to. it sure would be nice if one didnt have to deal with any dealers and cops and the whole ass fucking good people take to have what should be as common as a dandylion.
