  • One more point I'd like to make is that a fluorescent light pulses 120 times per second. So I calculate that a 300w equivalent fluorescent at 1/60th of a second would give power output that has 60 times less power than a 300w/s monolight. This is taking into account that 1/60th of a second would get two out of the 120 pulses and may even miss one of those. This would equate to a 7 stop difference!!! Try to understand that Watts and Watt Seconds are very different.

  • Taking inverse square law into account I calculate it would take the combined power of 21 of these lights to get the same power as one 100w/s monolight!!

You can buy a 180w/s monolight for just $49. A 180w/s monolight would be like buying 38 of these lights. If you are starting out in photography you need good lighting. I am an experienced photographer and photography teacher. These lights are great for video but no good for photography.

  • fantastic Vid' u da man Dave ;-)
