I saw a bird with a pebble in his eye
Kinda' jumped around a little but he couldn't really fly
So I picked him up
And I put him on my shoulder

I asked the bird 'can I try and help you see?'
He said he thought that he was ready but he fell out of a tree
So I picked him up
And I put him on my shoulder
And we looked around



That's the trouble with flying up
Is you're risking a fall back down
But if you don't even try your wings
Do you really have anything?



We walked around in a jungle full of trees
A lot of bark, a lot of branches that all looked alike to me
But I picked him up
And I put him on my shoulder
And we looked around

I held him out up to each and every one
'Till we saw a little sprout on a bigger burly trunk
'Cause I picked him up
And I put him on my shoulder
And we walked around

Another bird came 'a peeking out her eye
She was crying 'cause she couldn't find her baby from the sky

She said 'thank you very much, can you answer something please?
How'd you come across my baby and finally bring him back to me?'
So I picked him up
And I took him off my shoulder
And I said aloud:
