Penumbra is scary

Penumbra is a horror survival game that I felt like playing. The real scary part about this game is that you don't have any real weapons. Needless to say, I didn't last long.

To all those asking, this is the tech demo of Penumbra, not one of the retail games.

And yes, I know now that I was supposed to pull the lever as the thing was coming through the door. However, my panic-stricken mind never took that into account. :p

A. My camera has no night vision so you wouldn't see a thing if the lights were off.

B. Yes, for comedic effect. My solo commentaries are not interesting.

C. The camera is also there to pick up the commentary.

D. Yes, I was playing with sound. You can hear it if you listen close enough.

While I appreciate the pointers to get myself more immersed in the experience, if I intended to go full-out, I would have. Problem is, again, I'm not the bravest player of horror games out there.

Would have been nice if they didn't act like they knew everything about the game and stopped judging it. They really thought that because it was a first person game you should get guns. Not even fp just anything.

@TheyAreHere2 Oh, I knew from the beginning I wasn't going to get much in the way of weapons since I at least read up on it a little bit before playing, but my friend watching didn't, and he likes his big guns protecting him :p So needless to say, he was a little dismayed that you don't get any, heh heh.

I have been playing this game with headphones, in the dark, alone(sometimes with my dog sleeping on my bed which is slightly more comforting since she would probably growl if anything came into my room without me knowing it but dogs are like the primary enemy in the first episode) and I have to say, I kind of find it more scary than Amnesia. I found Amnesia's environments too inviting, they are warmly lit by candle light making some of the rooms feel more like a ski resort.

@kotzundspring Amnesia is scary ALL THE FUCKIN TIME. Penumbra is scary but it comes in bursts throughout the game. With amnesia you're on edge consistently.
