"WAR ON WAR Sam Harris Music Video by: Troystar

I have to admit I entered the contest because I always wanted to work with a green screen, and I absolutely love Sam's song. I did most of the video with Adobe Premiere 6.0, it was the first time I had ever used the program. I'm the type of person that just wants to open the program and know it right away LOL...it was really a hoot.

I knew that only having a webcam I wouldn't be able to film sequences so I decided to play with the background and have fun. I decided from the start that I didn't want to do a literal translation of the song or use images of politicians or journalist. The "Beatlesque" bridge part of the song was done in Macromedia Flash (with grahics from Adobe Illustrator), as well as some of the backgrounds, and then it was transplanted in Adobe Premiere. All the images are either mine or public domain. The images at the end of the soldiers are taken from Photographer Jayel Aheram you can view his photos at www.aheram.com. The images of the mural of LGBT people were taken by me in Philadelphia, it's the back wall of the William Way community center.If ever you are in Philadelphia check it out. The news report at the end was from Archive.org.

I just found out about all the celebrity judges and I have to admit I'm a bit intimidated. It took me a while to actually put the video up. I hope people like it.

making the EFFORT to submit a video is a wonderful thing. each and every one of these entries is remarkable in that it shows the different and unique way we interpret sam's wonderful song. it's one thing to point out helpful suggestions, and another thing to be downright mean. i'm thinking that sam didn't have this in mind when he asked us to make comments and give support. all my best to everyone. xoxo-vicki

I don't want to get in a contest with other posters. I just want you to notice... time and again.

(1) YouTube critics usally post no videos of their own.

(2) Accounts are days old. Obviously created for the sole reason of harassment.

I like the originality and creativity of the video. However, being original is not the same as being good. In my opinion, the animation makes you look like an amatuer. On the flip side, my kids really enjoyed your video.

I'm really glad your kids enjoyed it, I wanted it light and not as doom and gloom. I wanted to have fun with the video and not do a literal translation of the song, I mentioned in the description that it was my first time using Adobe Premiere.

I guess I use the wrong choice of words. I was trying to say, that we should not critique someone's work totally based on appearance. I feel we should try to understand the meaning and the integrity of someone's work. Then give our comment. I would also like to say that you are a very positive and supporting person.

I notice you have a bad habit of slandering me with accusations that better decribe you than me. I will not waste my time creating secondary youtube accounts just to humiliate you. I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. If it cost me a few friends along the way then so be it.
