It's usually girls that take out their phone allll the time...they just look at their phone the whole time if we are waiting for class in the halls or something...On the bus ride when the bus was packed (bus ride to upper campus not high school) i just took a peek at some girls phone and all she was looking at was the tools menu lol why must the phone come out?

I'll admit the take out your phone to avoid people is useful but I prefer the bend down to tie your shoe. You have an excuse to ignore people and it'll be about 10-30 seconds worth of time for them to keep walking.
