When this video was taken Eddie was about 6 months old and weighed about 12 lbs. He is 12 months old now and he is bigger than we expected him to be both in weight (18#) and dimensions (body length) and does not fit in the carrier safely. If your westie is about the size of Eddie in the video then the carrier will work for him but I wouldn't go much bigger (longer). We have a new norfolk puppy so he will be using the carrier. We are looking at a trailer for Eddie now.
