@ponste Yeah. I want to visit the Pacific Northwest.
-
I know right? But there are some great views here lol
-
@ponste Yeah Earthquakes are scary as hell. At least with Tornado's you get warning.

In the last little bit that the woman stated, the earthquake could trigger volcanoes. Not in this area. Most of the Pacific Northwest is set up a different way than most areas, our faults and volcanoes aren't connected, so therefore earthquakes would not trigger say... Mt. Rainer to go ape shit. Now a mega-quake, still might not trigger a volcano, but lots of people would die, lots of buildings would fall. It would be devastating.

Wow...I kinda want to move now.

why the hell did I move from nebraska to seattle? I'll take a tornado please, not a megaquake and a tsunami

9.6 Magnitude Mega Earthquake.
@scrotesmcgee Japan is actually one of the best in earthquake preparednes in the world. They just happen to suffer the lion's share of disasters due to their location and the fact that Japan is an island. Know about the Loma Prieta and Northridge earthquakes? I actually experienced the first, and a friend of mine experienced both. No matter how prepared, you can never be prepared enough. America actually is not as good in disaster preparedness as one might think.

next 50years? more like 5years in California
you cant predict an earthquake. a few seconds before it happens isn't much of a precaution. its more of a "brace yourself!!!"
