The instrumental to LOST HORIZON as conducted by Burt Bacharach is a beautiful melody. Unfairly criticized at the time of it's release, perhaps because of the lyrics. The music itself is quite nice. I always wondered how the film would have been received if it had contained the same music but done as a background score and not a singing musical. As it is, LH has the distinction of being the greatest and only ANTI-WAR MUSICAL FANTASY ever filmed. Perhaps THE LITTLE PRINCE is a close second.

These versions don't sound like Bacharach so much as karaoke versions. At most these were written for the singer/actors to practice. Am I wrong?

@lvmfah These are the original recordings minus the song words. Absolutely NOT karaoke. Pure Burt Bacharach music at it's purist.
