  • Thanks for the vid bro! I ordered struts for the trunk of my 98 M3. The trunk struts work pretty much the same way as the hood struts you're demonstrating for anybody interested in that info. I couldn't find a vid specific to my trunk struts but this one did the job just fine. With your help it took me five minutes to change both struts without breaking anything! Thanks for taking the time to post this DIY.

  • @UTubeMeTubeWeTube We appreciate your comments and thanks. Next time, please give us a chance to earn your business, too. For parts for your M3, check out AutoWerksofAmerica com

  • Thanks for this video. Are the hood struts and clips the same on newer model BMWs?

  • @megamanxtc The clips may not be exactly the same, but will be similar.

  • Your welcome! Be sure to check us out next time you need parts, too.

  • great video. good idea with the vice grip. thanks

  • Be careful when you do this - I did it on my trunk. You will be amazed how heavy that trunk slams down with no dampers on it. It can easily slice your fingers off. Make sure you have a spare 2x4 to keep it propped open as you work.

  • Thanks for this video. Used it to replace my Alpina B3 struts. Hope you don't mind I've linked to your video from my site b3alpina.com. Jim (Scotland)

  • Great info. After watched the video, I replaced my hood struts with ease; different clips but same principle.

  • Thank you, was going to try to attempt this after work, with little daylight...I will complete in the morning.

  • Thanks Heaps ....from Australia !!
