God I love the old crew and films. Nothing can touch it's majesty.

@knoxvilleguy2 - This promo was made for executives, theater owners and share holders of upcoming films and not released to the public. It was cut before part 4 was filmed in early '85.

Uhura: Now get in the closet!
Mr. Adventure: With Sulu?!?!?!?!

I wondered why it was covering ground already covered in ST III, execs, theater owners, etc., are probably so busy looking at the bottom line that they know SQUAT about the actual cinematic contents.
-
I absolutely LOVED this movie, but the promo rehashes the events of ST III a little too much, IMO, instead of giving a straight sneak peek at ST IV.

lol kirk crotch hit xD

II, III, and IV make the best trilogy in the history of movies. I could watch all three of them once every six months or so
so the trailer for 4 is footage of 3 haha

--no, if you read my comments below -this was for inhouse promotion of announcing upcoming papramount projects - this was made before Star Trek 4 was shot, and never broadcasted or shown in theaters.

(con't) ...Along with this Star Trek 4 promo, was announcements for "An All New Indiana Jones Adventure" featuring footage from Temple of Doom, Top Guns (with an 'S') and Steven Spielberg's Peter Pan.The original tape I still have but it has degraded over the years to a snowy picture. The audio is still fair... I imported it into Final Cut Pro, and ripped the Star Trek 3 DVD and matched the original edit to what we have here.

Around 1990 I picked up a VHS tape of movie trailers from a vendor at a comic book convention in NYC. The biggest selling point was trailers from the 3 Star Wars films. Other trailers were of Sci-fi movies of the early 80's and the last hour were one big program featuring upcoming Paramount films. I assume the program was made in 1985. (more..)
