Shimon Peres speech and response to harsh allegations and accusations made against Israel by Prime Minister of Turkey - Erdogan and Amre Moussa Secretary-General of the Arab League, as they were captured at Davos Annual Meeting 2009 under a discussion titled "Gaza: The Case for Middle East Peace" which took place in 29.01.2009 discussing: "The uncertainty and complexity surrounding the crisis in Gaza have captured the attention of the world" and "What needs to be done to prevent the Middle East peace process from slipping away yet again?".

This particular panel marked a low-point in Israeli-Turkish relations as Erdogan lashed at Peres. Erdogan finally had to be silenced by David Ignatius since he decided to make it into a fiasco.

As much dislike I hold for Peres for his negative influence in Israeli politics and negative portrayal of the religious right, he does still have what seems to be a sane approach and view of foreign relations.

Peres can still redeem himself, but until he does, I continue harbor animosity against him.

@miloshpopavik Well it took a while to overcome my own dislike of his personality, politics, ideology and acts that i deem as disastrous to Israel. But in recent years i saw a shift in him which makes him much more of an ally than and adversary, moreover he makes an excellent spokesman for Israel much more than any of our other so called 'hasbara' delegates.
