  • There is so much to know about this car and love. It's such an amazing car.

In contrast, there is little that can be said for the Xsara. It is not really a Citroen. It is not really a car in the true sense. Nothing to raise the pulse at all. No excitement. Its a Dodo.

CX though - Is it the last great true Citroen? Or does that title belong to the ZX?

    Respect.

  • @phwaff

Xsara does well for daily use.

ZX last great Citroën? Then I preffer the Xsara.

Of did you mean XM? That would make more sense to me ;-)

  • @arjanverkade It was always going to be a controversial statement, I know.

The ZX is very well made and has an excellent suspension system incorporating passive rear wheel steer and no computers.

XM although wonderful in most respects was not well made and became expensive to run. AND, and I mean it...I felt cheated that they didn't put the self-centre steering system on the British XMs...and why not go the extra mile and fit steering headlamps like the DS?

  • @phwaff

Good point about the Diravi, that's a problem we don't have on the old V6 models. Only on the new V6.24

Well you could always just buy a CX :-)

  • Love the car. The CX I mean.

The black door handles and trim really add to the look. It's very stylish.

    These are getting rare now.

    - a little CX trivia - The indicator switch actually switches in two stages: a light touch is all that is needed for changing lanes on the motorway. The switch then springs back on its own.

If you press it harder the switch will stay on until you switch it off.

You switch it off with a lighter touch than was needed to switch it on. Make sense?

  • @phwaff

Thanks, I like the zilver / black look as well.

That's how the indicator works, when you are used to it it works fine :)

  • @peugeotpeteable Maybe, but it has so many quirks: single front wiper, passive rear wheel steering, amazing suspension geometry that just soaks up the bumps better than anything else with coil springs and dampers! Long overhang in front of the front wheels, squashy door handles (like the CX series1), Low down driving position, flicking speedometer needle etc, etc! AND it corners like the lovely GSA model it replaced...

  • @phwaff As an ex ZX owner, its too normal to be that last greatest citroen

  • @arjanverkade ah that's it, u have to keep it, historic cars are masterpieces ;)

  • @subzero92MK

No I am still enjoying the CX! :D

Not as an daily driver, I have the gray Xsara for daily use.
