Mellotron has always been an instrument I've liked... from its use in Pink Floyd, Yes to even Rammstein, the Mellotron is a staple of rock music for the past 40 years, making a comeback in popularity in recent years.
Thanks to plugins into DAW programs like Garageband, we now have at our hands wonderful software such as G-Force M-Tron which is nothing short of amazing.
Mein Teil incorporates the use of a Mellotron, and in the M-Tron, I've used a combination of sound banks to recreate as close as possible, the beginning notes on the Mellotron portion of the intro. I actually played with several combinations until I decided which sounded more "true" to the original.
In this video, I demonstrate the usage of a midi keyboard along with the musical typing feature in Garageband (since I lacked another octave). Note, M-Audio midi keyboards are not as reliable as I thought they were... they come with a factory fault that fries the motherboard at any given moment. R.I.P. Axiom 25.
Hope this is useful for anyone - I'm a tone monster, so "getting it right" note and tone-wise was fun for me!
however it's a strings with a band pass filter.. right.. ?

@stefan0z erm... in M-Tron, there are low, band, and hi pass filters. But I don't fiddle around too much with those settings! If you are referring to the program, I could send you the settings, or better yet, a pic. Thanks for watching!

@tseekr379 Don't worry, XD unfortunately I haven't yet MAC, I use now a PC with cubase 4, with own sounds, few sounds, but I have also Korg legacy collection, excellent for the analog synth.. with these analog synth I have played all very same sounds of Ich Will, some sounds of Feuver Frei, and the keyboard solo of Du hast..
