When science meets fame
Saturday, 9 June, the nine winners of FameLab in Austria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Israel, Romania, Serbia and Turkey put the charisma back into chemistry, made biology accessible and excited the audience with artificial intelligence at the original FameLab UK finals.
Quentin Cooper, the evening host and the finals presenter, also spoke very highly of them, as indeed all who saw their 10 minutes blitz-performance or speed-FameLab as they called it. They demonstrated that they can present a science-bite in 1 minute in a foreign language and not be intimidated by quite a large audience.
FameLab is an initiative of the Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK and this was the first year the contest went international in nine countries in South-East Europe through the British Council network under the umbrella of Beautiful Science regional project.
