"Embraceable You", which was written in 1928 by George and Ira Gershwin and first appeared in the 1930 Broadway musical, Girl Crazy, was recorded in 1944 on Capitol Records by the King Cole Trio, consisting of Nat King Cole piano, Johnny Millerbass, and Oscar Moore-guitar. It can be found on a 4 CD box set, Cool Cole, The King Cole Trio Story, on the Proper label released in 2002, a must have for any Nat King Cole fan.

  • Can anyone tell me similar songs like this? (slow songs for lovers(: ) .. Judy Garland's version is awesome too! :D

  • @hostclub17 I have uploaded many songs like this by Nat King Cole, Joni James, Frank Sinatra, and Keely Smith.

  • I agree, hunterrae. This was one of the Gershwin's greatest compositions, along with "Someone To watch Over Me." Nat King Cole was one of the finest male singers of the 20th Century.

  • Perfection. There are lots of superb versions of this wondrous tune,( I especially like Sinatra's with Riddle) but this is my MOST favorite: Nat's solo, Oscar's guitar...Nat really feels this ..And.. it is so precise and lean and original. You are very appreciated for sharing it with us, Catman.

  • @hostclub17 Check out the soundtrack album for Woody Allen's Manhattan here on You Tube. It's an LP with nonstop instrumentals of beautiful Gerschwin tunes!

  • Su dulce voz me enamoro siempre!!!!
