Layne Staley's neighborhood (first visit)

Quick shot of where I was told was the location of Layne Staley's (of Alice In Chains) last residence: 4500 block of 8th Ave., University District, Seattle, WA. Layne's building can be seen at 1:55 - it is a whitish building with green trim on the right hand side in the middle ground.

See my other videos for a better/closer look, as I revisited the place in 2009 and recorded the site in better and more accurate detail.

Just addressing a few of the comments. (Damn, it's been three years since I took this clip already?)

I DID in fact park and walk around the area, but at the time I had no idea what building I was looking for. I would have stayed and pried into the search more, but I was actually on a tight schedule that day, and most of my time out there. As some people have pointed out, you can see Layne's building near the end of the video.

Also, it wasn't until I was in the line of traffic to get back "home" that I thought to take a video clip.

And in response to crazy comments about my driving, I was obviously not LOOKING INTO THE CAMERA WHILE DRIVING. I was watching the road the whole time, and holding the camera with my other hand, hoping to capture a semi-decent shot of the area.

This tiny clip wasn't intended to be a brilliant documentary. But rest assured if I ever do return to Seattle, you'll see a better video.

I lived across the street from the small cul de sac in Lynnwood, WA. that Layne lived in while in high school. He attended Meadowdale High and the cul de sac is located at 62nd and 188th st sw.
