The newly completed spill weir at Linacre on the Droitwich Barge Canal, taken on the 29th July 2010. The weir was constructed by Blue Boar Contracts Ltd for British Waterways as part of the restoration of the Barge Canal to navigation. The structure is reinforced concrete with facing bricks and copings, giving the impression that it is completely made from brick. Two submerged inlet culverts use concrete bagwork headwalls in the canal bank. The drain leads excess water down to the River Salwarpe. For more information and pictures, see www.leepd60.110mb.com or Google "Droitwich Canals Restoration Pictures".
