The funny thing is , is that this video is being made while global tempuatures are dropping , artic and antartic sea ice is expanding , i suppose all i can do is laugh at anybody who still beleives al gore , you fukin dopes wont listen to me , i get joy i knowing that in 20 years time you will see how dumb you are , happy global cooling period everyone

The funny thing is, you're wrong. The high temperatures are breaking records across the globe, with very FEW low records being set. When water boils furiously it displaces cooler air, forcing it to places it never went before. The planet is heating up dramatically, and thick sea ice that's been there for hundreds of thousands of years has been melting at an increased rate for just 50 years. There isn't a single scientist of any standing that has dissented on Global Warming since 2007, not one!

To an extent, your point has some validity, but in reality, folks like T. Boone Pickens, who are enormously influential, are quite sincere in their goals to achieve clean, renewable energy, which requires new technologies, and applications of revised technologies. Pickens is far too old to be self-serving, or looking for profits out of greed, that's bush and cheney. bush and cheney held America back at the most crucial time, where technology is crucial to advance green energy technology.

I don't know whether you understood my point, so I'll reiterate.

The "green alternatives" from Repower America are almost invariably about TECHNOLOGY -- as if that alone would save the modern industrial world.

It won't.

In fact, when people study the IPAT framework, they learn that population and (especially) AFFLUENCE are much greater avenues for real change -- for real reduction in our ecological footprint.

But again, those with power and influence won't tell you that crucial truth.

IPAT is a framework, not a solution, although its premise has made valuable contributions to many areas of research on our past and present geo-environmental state, and its sustainability.

Rate it however you choose, the fact of the matter is, if we don't focus on, concentrate on and work on Green Alternatives right now, our present momentum will surely destroy the entire planet quite rapidly.

Read authors like RIchard Heinberg for a more realistic assessment. And read about the IPAT equation:

I = P*A*T

The bottom line is that the industrialized world needs to slash its affluence to the bone. Technology will NOT dig us out of this hole, because technology is limited by available energy.

But of course, nobody with power or influence wants to admit any of that. They want you to think the party can continue, just with a new "green" venue.

I was ready to give 5 stars ... but then came the industrial "solutions" at the 6:50 mark.

I'm extremely skeptical. The reality of our situation does not match the ridiculous "get 'er dun" PR [7:22] and Apollo Project optimism about wind and solar.

What's the source of all the steel and abundant raw materials in those ads?

A new energy grid? WHAT?!? Where will we find (and mine) enough COPPER?

What the Energy Returned on Energy Invested (EROEI) for this "green" technology?

Thanks! We're not quite sure if that's underway, there have been some rumors, but no credible and substantiated reports. We sent Mr. Gore a letter a couple years ago, and his response indicated he might be advancing a followup, but we've heard nothing as of yet. Thanks for watching and commenting too.
