It is a very Biblical teaching dealing with this gift.

The Holy Spirit will work that way sometimes---it knows what you should pray---the flesh doesn't. People need to be willing vessels of God. His plan is perfect and beautiful!!! If you don't understand this---please seek God for answers--the power of God is in His Holy Spirit! Read the end of Mark---Jesus is basically telling you how to spot those who are true believers in His Word---and it says they will speak in new tongues---can't get much clearer than that.

@divinelykeyed. You can control whether you speak it out or not---sometimes you have this feeling deep in the pit of your stomach and it's like a release just to speak it out. After the tsunami in Japan--I had an almost uncontrolable urge--it was almost a pain that was only eased by my speaking in tongues- I felt anguish and was crying--my teenage daughter said Mom it sounded like you were speaking Asian.
