Cute little musical commercial from the late 1970s for a local hotel. Must have been popular with suburbanites, since real out of towners would never see the local airing of this.
@indyfan22k Honestly, I can't tell you; never slept in it, but only drive by it. Outside's OK, but I would wonder about its condition after post-UB-sporting-event parties or other drinking parties at the nearby watering holes...
@indyfan22k Not too far from me is the town of Amherst(pop.: ca. 125,000), where the suburban UB(University of Buffalo) campus is housed. There, the Motel 6 by the I-290 runs at $39.99/nightly.
usually off the Interstate in the middle of nowhere, not in ANY city over 20,000+ people. but back then thats still a lot of money. NYC is Ridiculous with Hotel rates. Price Gouging, Sobs

Wow, this one's even more corny than the Milford Plaza commercial! ;)

The man in the end looks to have a little trouble getting through the door with the bags.

The hotel is still there and now operates as a boutique hotel called the Carlton.

For awhile, they sold rooms on a few floors back in the 80s to NYU students. Wonder if NYU took over the whole hotel?

$39 for one; $49 for two... you'll be lucky to get this rate at Motel 6, Super 8, or other such places today.
