「城市的遠見」節目主旨，係企圖探索一個城市規劃的遠見，及其凝聚的共識，如何來影響城市的形式。節目中介紹世界各地不同特色城市的發展與人文景觀，由都市計劃的觀點出發­，進一步思索在邁入二十一世紀之後，台灣的城市如何步入已開發之名。

「城市的遠見」足跡走遍世界各地共十二座城市，這些城市不只是機械層面運轉順暢，整體而言更像是藝術品。城市居民透過有系統的努力，將他們的關懷轉化為一座更美好的城市。­而走出獨一無二的風格，創造出自己的魅力。

新加坡，一個人口三百萬，面積只有台灣五十分之一的小國家，在政治。經濟的表現上是亞洲，甚至是世界名列前茅的優等生。新加坡在短短的四十年間，由一個百廢待舉的英殖民地­，脫胎換骨成為亞洲營運中心，而且獲得"花園城市"的美譽。我們將告訴你，新加坡城市規劃的秘訣以及新加坡如何讓自己保持競爭力並維持領先。

新加坡這個地狹人稠的小國家，在政治與經濟上的表現是有目共睹的，短短的四十年間，新加坡的一個百廢待舉的殖民地，脫胎換骨成為亞洲營運中心，其中最寶貴的經驗法則就是「­堅持遠見，整體規劃」。新加坡的整體規劃注重配套與質量的控制，相對於台灣都市空間不當與畸形的發展，新加坡的經驗不失為一個很好的思考起點。

I think this video was made in the 1990s? Miss those days. It was not so crowded that time and more comfortable. And I think they made some mistake, Sir Stamford Raffles did not get Singapore through the Dutch. But no doubt there are some noise from the Dutch over British taking over Singapore.

singapore no longer clean and green. the city was infested by those foreigners, they bring in their culture, dirty the places, make a nuisance of themselves. all the hard works of all these years are gone into drain.
