USC Annenberg and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Los Angeles present the 20th annual Kenneth Owler Smith Symposium. The keynote address will be delivered by Jon Iwata, senior vice president, marketing and communications for IBM, who is widely recognized as one of the most inspiring and forward-thinking leaders in the business. He will explore how historic changes in business are altering the ways in which organizations communicate, challenging many fundamental assumptions in the field of corporate communications. He will also discuss the changing nature of work in public relations and point the way toward a new kind of communications profession, and professional. Dean Ernest J. Wilson III will give welcoming remarks, and Jerry Swerling, director of public relations studies at USC Annenberg, will moderate a panel discussion following Iwata's comments.
