I understand that not everyone can warm up to this, but criticizing it for being "ugly" is ridiculous and subjective. 19th-century critics similarly called the music of late Beethoven, Berlioz, and Strauss ugly; were they wrong?

Besides... the world isn't daffodils and puppies and music should reflect that more often.
