Part 1 of 2.

This is a quick tutorial on making a building to load into Torque. To get the .dif or .map into torque you save the file where you want then find the starter.fps\data folder then shove it into a New Folder in the Interior directory.

The same works with adding weapons to the local shape directory once made and exported to .dts format. The tools i use simplify the process so i only need to make new file names, save work, and 2 buttons to get the inbetween work done then work on the 3D art.

  • Nice tutorials! Constructor's a pretty solid program... Makes me want to reinstall T3D and work on some kind of small project. With the new one coming out, though, I'm not sure if it's worth getting too deeply into anything with the older version at this point.

Oh, and since I think you'd mentioned it, CSG stands for Constructive Solid Geometry.

  • There are some who don't have the ability to use the $1,000 version (i think that's the number) I think they should also look to fix and add things onto to the TDN for TGEA.

If i wasn't working on an MMO over at Visions, i wonder what other tutorials I would kick out (i have a city built in constructor... undergrounds, overgrounds, dummy buildings etc *breathe*) especially since i'm 2 months behind on tutorials :/

I'll add something this week by request if anyone has something.

  • How do you put the character in the game? and then play as him??? please help me

  • I'm working on a large tutorial showing people how to make a character then place them into the Torque game engine soon. It's still coming out later this month :D

The basics: add all the proper nodes, add a bounding box, add the ski nodes, add the proper animations for walk, jumps, etc then copy a player.cs script or make your own then direct the proper scripts to the specified folders and voi~la~

Check the Orc for better details or later this month.

  • i hope you get a bether mci its a helicopter low sound but good tutorial we need more for constructor and torque 3D or TorqueGame engine advanced etc :D

  • its a good tool&free+you have the orch to see the scale before test and see in tge tgea tge3D

  • wish i could get some spare time to fully go into building modeling for those who would like to make better designs etc, if you have any other questions then feel free to send a message.

  • Since people install differently or change folders depending on what they are doing, I'd suggest you search Orc.dts and it should pop up. If it doesn't, then check for a static object folder somewhere under torque > constructor.
