This plane is tricky for some to hold. And for me, Hand-Launching requires "airspeed assistance". I run a little, then toss plane at 30 - 35 degree angle from the ground. Too much angle will stall, and level toss will dip into the ground. Too each their own on getting these planes safely hand-launched. But I hope by seeing me toss it several times you'll get your own ideas too. Several harsh landings in this video. I hate that part. But the Plane has a foam-filled nose and doesn't show a crinkle whatsoever. The main thing is to toss the plane at the right airspeed and that's why I run. After tossing it, my right hand immediately finds the elevator stick and feeds up gently as needed. The plane will climb out on it's own. I just keep it from hitting the ground until I want it to land. Nobody cares.

  • Hi there i am thinking of getting the p51 and already have the hobby zone super cub and aero bird challenger and saw the remote for the p51 and didnt see any stick for the alerons how do they work??? Thanks you very much. Nice flying.

  • They work differently than the Super Cub. These ailerons are on the wing and are controlled by side to side stick. The plane will go straight like an arrow, and it's wings will roll. This is different from your Super Cub which turns by rudder and is more of a flatter level turn. To turn the plane with ailerons, you give right or left stick then pull back on the stick to bring the plane around again.

  • Is this Sinai from RC Universe?! He always says, "Nobody cares"!! lol

Howdy if it is, from Whiznr!!

  • I am. Thanks for watching !!!

    (Sinai)

  • was the wind blowing up thetail or into the nose? Do you call this into the wind or with the wind? Been confused on this, but it seems the wind should be blowing into the prop, but in the video it looked like it wasn't.

  • At 33 seconds look at the wind direction by watching the ribbon on my antennae. During the video The wind shifted and that's where you'll see the Mustang (1:10 sec)Dip. YES. LAUNCH IT INTO THE WIND or it will dip. INTO THE WIND gives it MORE LIFT. Land INTO THE WIND TOO whenever you can.

  • whats with the Ben-Hur music???

  • Yep i think i'll order the spitfire this friday, been checking out some forums on info about it and your right the spit is more forgiving plus the mustang battery compartment tends to fall off if not careful and hand launches can be a bit iffy...I like the look of it though(sniff)

  • Silly Boy! The music is the "Mars" movement from Gustav Holst's THE PLANETS.

    .

I had one of these planes. I hated it. It was underpowered, and a bitch to hand launch. If you didn't have a head wind to throw it into, forget it. I hear the new version is much better, though. I have the Parkzone Corsair and I love it.

  • Wingspan?

  • Parkzone totally redesigned this plane, its much better now. Lighter, more powerful, battery under magnetic cockpit.

  • it looks funny when he runs =]

  • The music sucks. With a harder throw you don't need to run. In some of the tosses you can see that even though he's running, it still dips right after release. Don't run and focus more on the throw, it's easier and just as successful.

  • absolutley! i had the spitfire AS A 1ST RC PLANE EVER! many successful flights with it! however, the mustang is tricky and really harder to fly than the spitfire....also, the location of the battery of the mustang is ridiculous. "on the bottom"... like, hellooo! but yeah guys, the spit is the way to go!

  • Can you tell any difference in power and or speed with the lipo battery v.s. the stock battery?Which lipo battery did you use?

  • this is the way to do it,6 successful launches, check aielerons before first flight,p51 flies great.cheers dude.
