I bought Mark's book and I think he accurately captures the importance of social media, but I think his definition of "act of journalism" is too broad. He observes that all the SxSW tweets, blog posts, etc. during the SxSW week amount to thousands of "acts of journalism." Actually, those are acts of publishing. And while many of those posts contain eyewitness information and thus are "accurate" as far as an act of witnessing goes, only facts that are demonstrably verified qualify as journalism.
