The problem with socialism happens when big(private) companies are able to bribe politicians to be awarded large contracts which they abuse broadly. Another problem occurs when officials also abuse of taxpayers' money, but who could blame them, capitalists love spending money. The issue is not really politics, the issue is greed.

Dear Americans (ChessPieceKnight), I thoroughly agree with you that socialism doesn't work. That being said, it was reported the other day that Palin was going to run for president. I implore you DO NOT VOTE FOR HER! It's not so much her standpoint that I object to, but rather her stupidity. The election of Palin to the presidency would destroy what little credibility the US has left.
