heres a bbc forecast with bill giles towards the end of the month long freeze up in february 1986....it just goes to show how warm our winters are now and how little fuss was made when we did have freeze ups in the 80s.

  • Nice simple weather forecast, no complications, why change it for the worst?

    Bit nippy that night

  • you wont see weather patterns like this anymore , this was natural uk weather not global warming . i remember having to postpone a holiday to Somerset at around the same time early February of that year because of the weather.

  • The graphics were so much better back then

  • was he? Did he ever pull Michael Fish's tash?

  • Yep, and -15c in Worcestershire. Reminds me of my childhood :)

  • oh yes it is!!!

    -17C in Oxfordshire last night : )

  • Bill Giles the office bully.

  • This forecast is kind similar to the weather we're getting at the moment.

  • love the extreme cold even if all the pipes in our shed have frozen. At least most of our Christmas is white at last!!!

  • Yeah in some forecasts the temperatures are not even gonna get above freezing during the day.

MSN are predicting lows of -8 for my area!!! Makes me feel cold even thinking about it!!!
