Are you guys going to do a review of the new Yamaha Super Tenere 1200? I would really like to see that.

@mvrtvcom - Why the ouch? I thought the 800 GS ran tube type tires?
-
We, along with Rider Magazine, installed the stock tires after this review. With these STREET tires the bike still had good off-road manners (suspension/chassis) but traction, thus the fun, off-road was gone. It will go off-road - you just can't push it as we did in our video.

I wonder how these F8s would have performed in those conditions with the standard fitment Bridgestone Battlewings.

What was the tire you had mounted on the bike?

Great Question. We had to blow up a photo to see what it is. Continental Twinduro. Rear tubless (ouch) 150 x 70 B17.

Great Videos! How is the saddle on long rides though, I have a toss up between the 800 and Vstrom 650. although pricepoint is a factor the 800 with options is close to a used 1200GS. The seat just doesn't look comfy for long hwy rides. Tell me im mistaken please =)

The BMW & Suzuki are quite different. I wouldn't want to take the 650 off-road, but it's a sweetheart everywhere on the street/great mileage 57+. The BMW runs stronger and is more exciting, the seat let us down - a half day seat. Suzuki seat is better, and the bike is just plain easy to ride all day, day after day. Not an exciting engine but still very nice. We love the Vstrom - even though we can't get Suzuki to ever call us back .... nothing! Don't expect Suzuki's here - sorry.
