  • @peteradaniel The note requires some kind of cadential ornament, tho not necessarily the one you think Bach meant. An 18th c. performer would have played one even if the composer hadn't written it in. But what would be the point of having the copyist prepare a performing part with an unplayable ornament? Do think Bach, with his busy schedule, had time to deal with such nonsense in the midst of a rehearsal? Or do you think was he writing for an instrument of the future? LoL

  • Love the trill at 2:10. Even when Bach writes a trill which is technically impossible for the instrument, Beuckels approaches it with such aplomb and style, rendering the mistake unnoticeable. Bravo

  • this is a wonderful interpretation of one of my favourite pieces.

    The flute player is magnificent, I love his tone and the way he calmly and harmoniously moves.

    Who is the flute player, anybody know?
