All game play provided by me. Please note that if I had a second controller and was able to include co-op mode, the Panama co-op level to talk to the Vice-President would definitely be number five because that level was massive and fun. However, since I don't currently have a second controller (or anyone to play with) I had to leave it out. Sorry.

Also, keep in mind that these are my top five picks. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Feel free to post a comment informing us what your top five would be.

5. Penthouse (Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory)
I always remembered this mission due to the Kesshin songs that played over the radios. The first of the two encountered is titled One More Regret while the other, also heard during Cargo Ship, is titled Resonance. Aside from this, you must infiltrate the Penthouse from an alley behind a dumpster. And once you make it to the Penthouse, it is three stories to explore. While none of the three stories are massive and in truth it can be a little linear, there are two ways to reach the second floor or back down to the first.

4. Iceland (Splinter Cell: Double Agent)
Theres too much to say about this mission. The music and icy cool level design are just two of the features worth mentioning. Its this mission that includes the beautiful female vocals heard during the extraction that adds suspense and drama. I know Im not the only one that tried to hurry to extraction because I knew something bad had just happened. Before you even finish this mission you knew it had taken on a darker tone than those of previous installments. The music in general was just awesome - emotional and powerfully driven.

3. Presidential Palace (Splinter Cell)
What a way to end the original game with this phenomenal mission! It had two firefights near the end, one of which was avoidable. However, that second firefight takes place during a blackout in a basement with no windows. It's one versus five - and your opponents have night vision, too! And upon actually entering the Presidential Palace a new musical score begins - one that sets you in the mood to sneak past areas undetected. It gives you that sense of cautiousness - that this is a whole new ball game and it's time to bat 1000.

2. Kundang Camp, Indonesia (Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow)
With four tropical missions, it was difficult to pick out the top of the bunch, but it all boiled down to the fact that this mission was long, difficult and had the added feature of showing the sun slowly setting as the player continued further into the camp. By the conclusion of the mission, the sun had nearly set as dusk turned to nightfall. That sense of realism gave the player an idea of how long it had taken Sam to travel from infiltration to extraction.

1. CIA HQ (Splinter Cell)
Really, what is there to say about this mission? Well, for starters, Im just sorry it came so early in the franchise. You get to infiltrate a government building after normal business hours to apprehend a mole. How cool is that? It's rainy and dark and whenever I play this mission, I get this sense of the employees thinking, "Man, it's getting late. I just want to get home to my family and out of these nasty weather conditions!" The music, while sneaking down dark corridors is pretty amazing, too. Also, you're exposed without any weapons for the beginning of the mission as well which adds to your needing to provide a covert entry.

Splinter Cell HD Trilogy info: Ubisoft will release the first three Splinter Cell games (Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory) in HD for PS3 and 360 on June 21, 2011 for $39.99 ($38.99 on Amazon). Originally, it was to be a PS3 exclusive released on March 22, 2011, but it was delayed presumably to put it on 360 as well.

Naturally, people have questions regarding this trilogy pack. Here are some of the more popular questions:

1. Will it have multi-player? This is probably the biggest factor in determining if people will buy it or not. Will it have offline and online co-op as well as the famous Spies Vs. Mercs? No word yet on if either will be included.

2. Will the PS3 version be the PS2 port? Anyone that knows the series knows that the Xbox version was far superior to the PS2 version and with it coming to PS3, no one wants the PS2 version in HD.

3. Will it have DLC? The original game had three DLC missions that took place after the main story. These included the Kola Cell mission and the two Vselka missions. No word yet on if these will be included or available through XBL or PSN.

As of right now, the only thing added is Achievement and Trophy support. When more info becomes available, I will update this. Thank you.

UPDATE: Answers to the first two questions have been provided. Multi-player will NOT be included. And the HD game will be a PC port.

  • WHY SAM FISHER GO TO JAIL ON SC DOUBLE AGENT?? SOMEONE TELL ME PLZ =D

  • @14brunoandrade Have you played Double Agent?

  • I liked the iceland mission better in ps2/xbox version, better then the pc/360/ps3 version, because in the next gen version, him saying "whats going on????"" doesn't make sense. the cutscene just seems to fit better on the old gen version

  • @shapeworkstudios1 I totally agree with that. Don't get me wrong. The next gen version has its perks, too, like the exclusive Shanghai mission, daylight missions, the color night vision goggles (which I absolutely love) and the fact it takes place in the present as opposed to a giant flashback, but I still tend to favor the sixth gen version. Maybe I'm biased having played it first, I dunno. :)

  • Oh my God !! I loove this video ! She makes me so nostalgic !

(The bell song in Presidential Palace in the first Splinter Cell or the C.I.A. HeadQuarters) Thanks you very much !

  • IMO Kinsasha and Shanghai were better than Iceland- at least in the next gen version.

  • @Fastweb Ya, one thing i don't get with the early gen version of da, is the ending... It doesn't really fit in with conviction. And i wish the old gen version had the headquarter parts (like in the next gen) instead of this thing where your walking around in the typical mask and goggles.

But, it always seemed to me like chaos theory was way too short, and I'm glad you can get more of that style of gameplay.

  • @contender056 HD simply means improved graphics as far as I know. One of the biggest complaints I've heard, though, is that multiplayer has been taken out. Since I already own the trilogy on the original Xbox, I have no reason to buy this HD remake, especially since there is no multiplayer. But for someone like you that has never experienced the original trilogy, I highly recommend it.
